We are constantly studying horticulture in order to present you with a large, creative array of plants that are hardy, grow well in our area and work together in harmony, all while looking stunning. Our plants are grown in reputable nurseries in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Colorado.

Drainage

We place a strong emphasis on this, the most important part of any landscape. To keep water off of building foundations, make it run off patios and driveways and channel it in a controlled manner toward a retention area or out of the yard requires precision work. We have mastered this science and apply it to every job.

Natural and artificial grass

We install the finest lawn areas using a superb blue fescue blend that accommodates many different requirements like aesthetics, desired color tone, mechanical pressure, feeling of softness, self-healing ability and many, many more. It's even strong enough for use in baseball fields.

As we are also focused on being environmentally responsible, we strongly suggest making use of artificial grass with its many advantages over natural grass!

Erosion control

It is very prudent to control areas that are prone to or already in process of erosion at an early stage. It is even more important to thoroughly consider combining different strategies while also factoring in other aspects like curb appeal, environment and cost effectiveness for the very best solution. Irrigation

We install all sprinklers and drip irrigation systems in accordance with the suggestions of the Truckee Meadows Water Authority, and design all of them individually for maximum efficiency. Retaining walls

We have mastered designing and building exceptional walls for decades using various different materials like natural boulders, concrete block wall systems and railroad ties. The choice of materials is entirely dependant on your preferences. We can build them all, even on the steepest and most inaccessible slopes of some properties around Lake Tahoe where nobody else would dare to move a single rock.

Water features

We have beautified hundreds of homes with an array of excellent waterscapes: from simple, narrow creeks with small ponds to breathtaking, gigantic waterfalls cascading into big ponds, to pondless, stunning waterfalls and streams. Our water features are designed for an absolute minimum of maintenance and a maximum of joy and fun. We also provide the technical know-how to regulate the water flow so you can adjust it from being a mere trickle and having a soothing sound effect to your soul to showing off roaring, entertaining, tropical gushes of water.

The design is carefully tailored to your lifestyle; in particular, for clients with young children, safety is a strong consideration in the overall design.

Big Boulders

Placing big, natural boulders in your landscape gives you a real, bold statement and compliments the overall design. Big, rounded, smooth boulders follow Feng Shui principles like in a Zen garden and have a soft effect, while broken, ragged boulders present themselves as strong focal points themselves. Our versatile equipment is well suited for placing all desired sizes of boulders so that your landscape displays an attractive diversity of sizes.

Large Trees

We regularly transplant beautiful, 20-30 foot tall evergreen and deciduous trees that provide immediate windbreaks, privacy, blocking of unsightly views or just showing some maturity within your landscaping and creating an attractive variety in height. Even better, you simultaneously provide food and shelter to wildlife. It just takes the right equipment to do it.

Paving

We make serious efforts to build paved areas in the best possible way, and that starts with the right compaction of the appropriate materials to avoid future depressions. Precise grading and perfect design has to go along with it for properly functioning drainage.

In this manner we pride ourselves having created many gorgeous patios and driveways using both elegant, formal and rustic, antique-looking pavers; lovely, meandering walkways out of random flagstones and storage areas covered with colorful, low-maintenance rock. Sealing the paving is a great idea for further stabilization, lower maintenance and a certain, distinct look. All these materials are strongly recommended because they won't crack!

Outdoor Lighting

There are many excellent advantages to installing a low-voltage lighting system:

• They can light the way for those coming and going.
• They can safely illuminate steps and stair areas.
• They can create dynamic accents in the landscaping and enhance patios, driveways, pathways, decks and walls.

Have you ever been sitting outside on the patio in the evening with your family or friends while freezing? In the future we could save you from that experience and design and build a cozy, warm place to visit comfortably through the night. We have built them right in the center of patios and in natural settings with big flat boulders around it to sit on. Either can create an extraordinary focal point and its own distinct atmosphere.

Fences

Wood, vinyl, wrought iron or chain link are common choices, but aesthetic questions play a major role. Design and experience become extremely important in determining the style and form that are best suited to the surrounding environment. We can even go a step farther and design customized decorations for the fence to make it enhance the surroundings even more.
